OF MOUNTAINS AND HARBORS THREE BRAND NEW HUGO TRACKS
Once again, HUGO Tracks provides you with a nice selection of three great new tracks. This time, they are original tracks by Vermont and Closed Paradise and a Trentemøller remix of Reptile Youth. As always, they’re available as a limited free download, so make sure to be quick!
Vermont is the latest project by our good friend Danilo Plessow, aka Motor City Drum Ensemble, and Marcus Worgull (from the ever-relevant “Innervisions”-imprint). Together these two geniuses, who are mostly known for their ability to produce and play top-notch club records, have paid tribute to the “I live in Vermont and I do what I want”-attitude of the US-state by releasing a fantastic and spherical self-titled longplayer with a lot of Krautrock-references. The LP is being released these days on legendary Kompakt Records and “Majestät” is the perfect forerunner. Highly recommended!
Closed Paradise “Hidden”
French DJ and producer Mathieu Clé used to release records and perform under his real name for a while, but switched to Closed Paradise nearly two years ago. One of his latest releases is entitled “Hidden” and grabs you by the hand to sit you down in the passenger seat of a DeLorean to travel back in time. You’ll arrive in 1978 in Giorgio Moroder’s studio to find a deep synth-pop tune that could easily have been the slower B-Side to “The Chase”.
Reptile Youth - “JJ (Trentemøller Remix)”
Reptile Youth, who have made quite a name for themselves as a live-act with their spectacular shows, are still one of Denmark’s hottest up and coming acts! We can’t think of a better accolade for them at this stage than a remix-treatment by Copenhagen’s legendary producer Trentemøller. The result is so epic that we simply can’t help but instantly share it with you.
