CUTTING EDGEBEHIND THE SCENES OF HUGO
The almost fictitious surroundings of Vasquez Rocks, Natural Area Parks California, were the setting for the current Autumn/Winter Campaign Shooting. The 1,54 sq. miles natural park with its distinctive rock formations in the middle of a flat desert landscape has not only been used in the filming of numerous Star Trek productions but was also the perfect location for the futuristic seeming set of the current HUGO Campaign Shooting. The theme was “Tech Nation” – Belgian photographer Pierre Debusschere and stylist Tom van Dorpe were part of this campaign shooting. The female models were styled in a space-like manner. White eyebrows, slicked-back hair and a makeup rich in contrasts underlined the striking look of Amanda Murphy and Maja Salamon who both were present for the first time at a HUGO shooting.
But the models were not only acting behind the camera – the Fashion Video was shot at the same time so the models took on quite a different role: Amanda and Maja as well as their male model colleagues Tim Schuhmacher, Andrew Westermann and Paul Boche, were all equipped with mobile cameras themselves, to film their own perspectives of the set. An additional camera mounted on a long crane recorded further exceptional perspectives. Well known for his technically sophisticated and unconventional works Pierre Debusschere created an exciting, illusionary pictorial world in tune with the current HUGO collection.
