Today’s selection is a special one since it consists of free downloads only. All three of them are clearly party oriented tunes, sophisticated floor fillers with an edge. They all are at home in the genre of house music but take slightly different approaches to make you dance. Feel free to indulge in the aural goodness and get your free treats down below. That irresistible selection is completed by the latest edition of the HUGO Tracks podcast - it can be downloaded here or subscribed to via iTunes.
Dauwd "Silverse (Dub Edit)"
We start with Dauwd, a long time favorite of ours who was featured here already twice this year. This british producer is around since 2011, constantly crafting his moody yet powerful dance tracks: punching kick drums and clever use of delay and reverb for that extra spaced-out edge are his trademark. This economic approach to music can once again be witnessed on his latest release, the “Heat Division Remix EP” on Pictures Music.
Bob Moses "Winter's Song"
The music of Bob Moses is not as sparse as Dauwd’s and sounds quite a bit warmer, thanks to their use of vocals. Yes, Bob Moses is actually a duo, comprised of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance who chose a name with quite a rich heritage for their project. There are three Bob Moses’, all of them New Yorkers: One was an architect who shaped the modern city, one a leader in the Civil Rights Movement that shaped modern society and the third a jazz drummer, who can be said to have shaped modern music.
Downtown Party Network "Space Me Out (Feat. Egle Sirvydyte) (Radio Edit)"
Another house producing duo comes from Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania: Downtown Party Network. They both make music since 2007, be it as solo artists or as a duo, and have amassed a quite impressive discography with releases on labels like Is It Balearic? and Compost. Their Track “Space Me Out”, featuring fellow Lithuanian singer Egle Sirvydyte, is a crystal clear dance offering with an undeniable wistfulness to it.
HUGO Tracks Podcast #32
And we shouldn't forget the podcast, of course! It is once again a sweet package, containing all of the three tracks above, but also some treats from Orson Wells, Lumigraph and TCB. Get it here or on iTunes.
