HUGO Artists Kate Boy and the city of Los Angeles have a rather intense connection – singer Kate used to live and work in LA before moving to Stockholm and starting the band. All the members have a soft spot for the city - and they all truly love to perform in California. Given all this, it is not much of a surprise that they immediately agreed to share some of their favorite spots in the city with us. So, without further ado, here is Kate Boy's very own list of Los Angeles hotspots:

Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

“Art museums are one of our favourite places to spend free time, and LACMA always has amazing exhibitions to see. Also, outside the museum there is a really cool lamp post installation to get yourself lost in…”

Walt Disney Concert Hall

“This building was designed by architect Frank Gehry, and it's one of the coolest places to see downtown. The curves and shapes of the exterior really make it feel like it's from another world.”

The Village Idiot

“Australian owned gastropub - this place feels like a home away from home. The Village Idiot has a relaxed environment with great classic pub food, we love coming here for fish and chips, or ale steamed mussels with garlic sourdough mops. So good.”

Huntington Gardens
“When we first saw the desert garden at Huntington Gardens, it was like landing on another planet. There's something special about plants that can survive on such little water yet hold so much life. It's one of the most beautiful gardens in the world!”

Griffith Park Observatory
“On a clear night, it's so beautiful here. Hiking up in the afternoon, visiting the observatory and exploring outer space, then watching the sunset turn to stars above the LA skyline, the best way to end the day.”

Pasadena City College Flea Market
“A flea market that is held monthly in a car park in Pasadena, is the BEST place to find rare vinyl. The vendors' collections are huge and you can always have a great conversation with one of the colourful characters there.”
