Escape from everyday life. The following three hotspots are perfect for those who want to enjoy time off with the sound of the ocean ringing in their ears and a golf club in hand:
Four Seasons Resort Lana’i at Manele Bay, Hawaii
Just a few kilometers from Maui is the island of Lana'i. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, beautiful beaches, upland forests and red lava rock create an incomparably peaceful atmosphere. Hikers, golfers and water sports enthusiasts definitely get their money’s worth at the Four Seasons Resort at Manele Bay.
Must do: Whale and dolphin watching. Only a five minute boat ride from the resort are the largest whale and dolphin pods of Hawaii. Hundreds of humpback whales can often be spotted.
Verdura Golf & Spa Resort, Sicily
The village of Verdura on Sicily’s south coast is the location for the eponymous Golf & Spa Resort that offers guests a fantastic program of leisure and pampering. Golf addicts can practice their shots on the 18-hole championship course or on the 9-hole course and then spoil themselves in the luxurious Verdura spa facility.
Must do: Give soccer a go for a change. The soccer field on the premises was once reserved for the German national team, now hotel guests can also kick a ball around.
Budersand Hotel, Golf & Spa, Germany
Located in the quiet village of Hörnum, south of Sylt, Budersand Hotel hides a multitude of rest and relaxation options behind its impressive façade, making every stay an unforgettable experience for the senses. In the middle of the wild natural environment of Sylt, the hotel is located right on the coast. Even the hotel’s 18-hole links golf course features sand dunes and lush moorland.
Must do: Feel the wind in your hair. A trip to Sylts southern most point – the windswept Hörnumer Odde – is definitely worth the journey.
